“It’s a time machine,” Chris Gardner exclaimed, “watch out! It’s a T-rex! We gotta find a place to hide!” Chris Gardner went into the public bathroom. He and his son didn’t have a place to sleep as they were evicted from their home. He unrolled the toilet paper and put it on the ground for his son to be a little bit more comfortable. The son lied down on the toilet paper bed and fell asleep without knowing that this was all part of his dad’s plan. Bang! Bang! Somebody kicked the door to get in. Chris Gardner tried as hard as he could to stop the door from opening, and also the sound to stop, for he didn’t want his son to wake up. When the banging stopped, tears started rolling down his face as he couldn’t handle the hardship of being homeless. In the movie, which is based on a true story called The Pursuit of Happyness, Chris Gardner is a man who has to deal with the brokerage firm as a stockbroker. He tries his best to get in. But even in moments of hope, despair comes and shatters his pursuit. At the end, he finally gets hired as a stockbroker and finally becomes happy. Although this movie, which is based on a true story, may portray the protagonist, Chris Gardner in positive ways, it doesn’t perfectly portray him. In my opinion, Chris Gardner in the movie is better than Chris Gardner in real life.

There are many similarities and differences when we compare the movie’s Chris and Chris in real life. In the movie, Chris is a very caring and hardworking father and husband and works hard and is desperate to get into the internship and get hired as a stockbroker. He is broke in the movie and it is why he works so hard to get into the company. He didn’t have a salary. In real life, he had a relationship with another woman, Jackie Medina, even though he was married to another woman. On January 28, 1981, Jackie and Chris’s son, Christopher Jr. was born. He wanted to get in the company and got lots of support when getting in. Though he was poor, he wasn't broke.

Although both Chrises worked to get into the company they wanted, I think the movie’s Chris is better than the real Chris. I think the movie’s Chris is better because he was a more caring and hardworking father and husband. The real life Chris cheated on his original husband. Another reason is that in real life Chris didn’t work hard to get into the company. He got a lot of support when getting in. Lastly, he wasn’t broke, even though he was poor. He had enough money to take care of his family. For all these reasons, the Chris in the movie worked harder and that he is better than Chris in real life.

Chris in the movie and Chris in real life are similar in some ways. They both wanted to get in the company and didn’t have a lot of money. But overall,I think the movie’s Chris is better. Firstly, Chris in the movie was more caring and hard working towards his family. Secondly, he worked hard and desperately wanted to get into the company while the real life Chris didn’t work as hard. Lastly, the real life Chris wasn’t having a financially hard time compared to the movie.
