If I could read only one book for the rest of my life, I would definitely read one of the books in the Harry Potter series. It is one of my favorite books, and I’ve read the books over and over again. Although I would have to read the same book for the rest of my life, I believe that reading Harry Potter would be a very entertaining and helpful experience.
The main, and most obvious reason I enjoy reading Harry Potter is the interesting plot of the story. Harry Potter is a book full of fantasy and adventure. Since it is about things that don’t exist in the real world, I can vividly imagine and enjoy the book, creating my own magical world of sorcery. The story itself is also very complex, and includes various adventures. Furthermore, there are many parts where it builds up tension, which makes the story more interesting to read.
Another reason why is because the book includes many lessons that can be useful in life. Books can teach us many lessons, and if I had to choose, it would be wise to choose one with many useful lessons. Harry Potter includes numerous life lessons. One of the themes in Harry Potter is true friendship. In the book, Harry and his friends always help each other, and are not reluctant to sacrifice themselves for each other. Another lesson is to always persevere and never give up to get the best result. In the book, Harry always tries his best and never gives up; he often wins in the conflicts he faces against the villains. Apart from these lessons, the book has numerous themes that I can utilize in my life. If I have the book, it would be able to help me throughout life.
Finally, I can relate with the characters and learn from them. The story has many diverse characters, many of them whom I can relate to. It is quite entertaining to relate with the characters. For instance, I can relate to Ron; I am often very lazy, but loyal and enjoys risks. In addition, the characters in the book go through many different challenges, and often manage to overcome it. One of the problems Harry faces, and overcomes, is the Dursleys. Harry is raised by the Dursleys with hate. He has grown up feeling unwanted by his family. However, despite the hatred from his family, Harry manages to go to Hogwarts and learn magic out of his compassion towards it. By exploring the characters, I can learn how they overcome their difficulties, and apply it to my life, too.
For these reasons, I believe that Harry Potter would be the book I would read for the rest of my life.
