Dear Lina,
Hi! My name is Isabella! I am 9 years old, and I am from a different world. I am from a place called Seoul, South Korea. I think it could be the world you were imagining. We have colorful lights, even in the night, and there is a thing called the sun, which brightens up our day. Here, we have subways and cars, which are modes of transportation that run on electricity and fuel. They are super fast, and we even have airplanes that can fly in the air. We have tons of color pencils here, too. We don’t work when we are 12 here. School ends when you are 19, and you normally start working at 20. In school, we learn and take a test when you are 19. To get into a good university and job, you would have to get a high score. You have to study a lot while being a student, though our parents cook for us and take care of us. However, the people here think of this as normal. Here, if they heard about your city, they would be surprised that there aren’t so many lights or colors. If you came here to Seoul, you would have to try the food. Here, we have meat, and kimchi, a spicy cabbage, which is really delicious. Also, you would need to try out the KTX, which is a really fast train. Then, you would have to go to the theme parks here. They have roller coasters which are super fast and viking rides that swing until you can see the floor on the other side. I also went to other places on Earth, like America. It is huge, and in a place called New York, there are screens everywhere, with colorful neon lights. I wish you could come here. You would really enjoy it! Also, in your city, was there ever a time when the lights were bright and colorful? Even in the dark, do you enjoy your job? Do you think you will be able to find out what the instructions mean?
Love,
Isabella
